Who we are
Tenth LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“Tenth,” “we,” “us”), keeps the books for businesses across the United States. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
It covers this website (hellotenth.com), the emails, calls and texts we exchange with you, and the information we handle when we keep your books. If you’re a client, your signed agreement with us also covers your information. If the two ever differ, the agreement controls.
What we collect
When you visit this site
The site has no forms or accounts. Like every website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider, Cloudflare, which receives basic technical details when your browser loads a page: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. Cloudflare uses them to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, how they found us and which pages they look at. It collects details such as the pages you view, roughly where you are, your device and browser, and the site or email link that brought you here. See Cookies and tracking.
When you get in touch
Your name, email address, phone number and business name, plus whatever you choose to tell us in an email, text or call. When you book a call, you do it on Calendly, our scheduling provider, which collects the details you enter there; if you reached our site from one of our emails, the booking link also carries which email brought you.
When we reach out first
We contact business owners we think could use our help. For that we use business contact details, such as name, business name, role, work email and business phone, from public sources and business data providers.
When you become a client
What we need to keep your books: your business’s financial records and transactions, read-only bank and card feeds, statements, invoices, receipts, payroll reports and tax documents, and contact details for you and the people you work with. We also keep your agreement and billing records. Card and bank payments to us are handled by a payment processor; we don’t see or store your full card or account number.
What we never ask for
Your online-banking login. We get into your accounting software, payroll and other tools through their own option for inviting an accountant, with our own login, which you can turn off anytime. If a tool has no invite option, you share access through our business password manager, never by email or text.
How we use it
- To answer you and set up calls.
- To review your books, quote a price and do the work you hire us for.
- To send you service messages: questions about transactions, your monthly close, notices about your account.
- To bill you and keep business records.
- To tell you about our services. You can opt out at any time.
- To protect our clients, our business and our systems, and to meet our legal obligations.
We don’t use your financial records to market to you or anyone else.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to texts, we text you about your books and your account, and you can text your bookkeeper. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time, or HELP for help.
We don’t share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing described above excludes text-messaging opt-in data and consent; we don’t share that with any third party.
How long we keep it
- Contact details and conversations: while we’re talking with you, and until you ask us to delete them.
- Client records: for as long as we work together, and afterward for as long as the law or our professional obligations require. Then we delete them securely. Your books themselves live in your own accounts, so when you leave, you keep everything and we remove our access.
- Opt-outs: if you ask us not to contact you, we keep your email address or number on a do-not-contact list so we don’t reach out again.
How we protect it
- Access to your systems comes by invite, with our own login. Our bank access is read-only.
- Each person on our team has their own login, and our business accounts require multi-factor sign-in.
- When someone leaves our team or an engagement ends, their access is removed.
- Please don’t send passwords, full Social Security numbers or full account numbers by email or text. We’ll give you a secure way to share files.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it for marketing. Email hello@hellotenth.com. We’ll confirm the request comes from you and respond within 30 days. If we need to keep something, for example records the law requires or that we need to finish work you hired us for, we’ll tell you what and why.
You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails using the link in any of them or by replying. You won’t be treated any differently for using these choices.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses and the adults who run them. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll tell our clients by email before it takes effect.
